Transforming Minds for Individual
and Planetary Well-Being

Profile picture meditating

Welcome to Nature of Mind. I'm Patrik Harbusch, the founder of this platform and a passionate explorer of consciousness.

My work is based on the belief that transforming the way we relate to our minds can have a profound impact not only on our personal well-being, but also on the world we shape together.

I guide purpose-driven individuals on a path from overwhelm to inner calm, from confusion to clarity, and from outer striving to inner alignment. My offerings range from transformative retreat experiences to online mindfulness courses and deep 1:1 mentoring.

My professional background in real estate - where I advocate for impactful living models in response to climate change and social inequality - and my passion for the arts, where I engage with works that inspire contemplation and inner reflection, both deeply inform my approach to curating transformative experiences.

I explore how the spaces we inhabit and our experiences of beauty and awe can shape our well-being and expand our consciousness.

I believe that the evolution of consciousness is one of the most important contributions we can make to our own lives and to the future of humanity. My deepest intention is to share what I've learned and to walk with others on this path of awakening.

My personal journey

For years I lived primarily from the neck up, driven by intellect, achievement, and external validation. Although outwardly successful in my fast-paced career, I often felt overwhelmed, disconnected, and trapped in a cycle of doing without deeper fulfillment.

Then came a moment that changed everything. On a sunny afternoon in London, I was sitting in a small park near one of my favorite museums on my lunch break.

I was listening to a TED talk by Headspace founder Andy Puddicombe that caught my attention.

He shared a Harvard study showing that people spend nearly 50% of their waking lives lost in thought - and that this mind-wandering is directly correlated with unhappiness. And he suggested a solution: meditation.

This made me very curious. Although I'd tried meditation before, it had never stuck. But this time something shifted, and I felt inspired and committed to radically changing the way I related to my mind.

This became the start of a daily mindfulness practice that slowly reshaped my life. Meditation helped me slow down, reconnect with my body and the world around me, and access the present moment in ordinary ways: drinking my morning coffee, feeling my breath, walking through the city. I began to notice all the small and beautiful moments in life that had previously been obscured by my busy mind.

Over time, mindfulness didn't make me less productive, it made me clearer. I still pursued meaningful work, but from a place of inner alignment rather than restless striving. Instead of chasing happiness only in the external world, I began to discover an inner source of well-being that had always been there and was much more sustainable.

This turning point was just the beginning. Since then, I've immersed myself in intensive trainings and retreats in various disciplines of inner well-being, including mindfulness, non-dual meditation, yoga, Internal Family Systems (IFS), self-inquiry, somatic practices, nervous system regulation, and more. I've studied with some of the most respected teachers in these fields while walking my own path of deep inner transformation.

In search of the sacred

Even before I began meditating, I was searching for something sacred. I had a longing, a sense that there must be more to life than checking off to-do's and running on autopilot, as so many around me seemed to do.

While working in the financial industry in London, I enrolled in evening art history courses and spent weekends in galleries and museums. The arts, especially paintings, photography, jazz and classical music, became my doorways to the sacred. They offered moments of stillness, beauty, and awe that pointed beyond the surface of everyday life.

I see mindfulness and transformative experiences in a similar way: as powerful pathways that return us to mystery and wonder, especially in a world where so many have lost that connection.

One of the most formative chapters in my journey was a 16-month sabbatical I took with my partner and our toddler after working for more than a decade in real estate.

We traveled through Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Bali, Southern Europe, and Latin America, spending extended time in sacred places, retreat centers, monasteries, and ashrams.

This time allowed me to step back from the busyness of modern life and live with greater presence and intention as a family.

It also deepened my direct experience with mindfulness, cross-cultural contemplative traditions, and holistic healing practices, which has had a profound impact on my life and work, and on my ability to guide others through their inner transformation.

What makes my
approach different

Drawing on years of study, practice and teaching - including an intensive two-year mindfulness teacher training with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach and advanced studies in non-dual meditation with Loch Kelly and Mingyur Rinpoche - I have developed the tools to help clients explore the full spectrum of their lives through body, mind and spirit.

My work is grounded in presence, compassion and integrity. But what really sets it apart is the integration of deep contemplative practice with a practical understanding of the complexities of real life. Having worked in high-pressure environments and followed my own path of personal growth, I bring a broad perspective and deep understanding to each session.

If you're seeking a more spacious, embodied, and purposeful way of living - and want to lead with calm, clarity, and compassion - I'm here to support you.

Nature Of Mind - A space for inner
and outer transformation

Out of my personal journey, I created Nature of Mind as a mindfulness-based platform where personal growth meets purpose, a space for those seeking both inner clarity and real-world impact.

Too often, our culture separates spiritual practice from ordinary life. My approach integrates them. The tools you learn are designed to support real transformation that ripples into all aspects of your life. When we are more present and connected to ourselves, we show up differently in our relationships, our work and the world we co-create.

But Nature of Mind is more than a platform. It's a movement.

A growing community of thoughtful, like-minded people, from artists and entrepreneurs to activists and leaders, dedicated to creating a more conscious, compassionate and sustainable world.
