THE NERVOUS SYSTEM CODES

by Patrik Harbusch

A 5-Week Live Online Training
to Regulate Stress and Stay Steady Without Sacrificing Your Ambition

The course begins on May 13th, 2026

"There's a lot happening in the world right now, and if you’re already stretched, your system rarely gets a chance to rest. Learning to regulate your nervous system is one of the most important skills you can develop right now. Because if you don’t take responsibility for your internal state, the external world will shape it for you."
— Patrik Harbusch, Founder Nature of Mind

A live online course
for people who carry a lot and want to
build a purposeful life without burning out

You’re good at what you do. You’re building something meaningful — a career, a dream project, a family — and you’re doing it well. But somewhere in the background, there’s a thought loop that won’t turn off.

“I need to go faster and do more, or I will fall behind.”
“I can’t afford to rest.”
“Something is still outstanding, and I can’t relax before I resolve it.”

And even when nothing specific is wrong, you feel it: the tight chest, the shallow breathing, the sense that you can’t fully switch off.

You know you should rest. But knowing doesn’t change the fact
that your body stays activated.

That’s not a mindset problem.
That’s a nervous system stuck in activation.

I created The Nervous System Codes because I was there myself.

I knew the tools: meditation apps, breathwork, coaching.
I used them. They helped in many moments.

But I kept coming back to the same baseline: urgency, unconscious tension, the sense that I couldn’t fully switch off even when nothing was on fire.

What changed things wasn’t more tools. It was understanding why my system kept mobilizing and learning to work directly with it.

What becomes possible when your system settles

This 5-week training is about building a nervous system that can handle stress and uncertainty without becoming overwhelmed or burning out.

Not by removing the stressors, but by training your system to meet those challenges from a more grounded place.

It helps people who feel constantly “on” to switch off more fully, sleep more deeply, and stay steadier and clearer even when you can’t control the outcome of the world around you.

This course is designed for people with demanding lives, which is exactly why the practices are short, specific, and built to be woven into a full life.

Once this becomes part of how you move through life, the constant overthinking will start to quiet down. You make decisions from clarity rather than pressure. You become more present with the people you love.

Why tools alone don’t solve this

Most nervous system trainings focus on teaching tools. But tools only work when you know when and why to use them, and when you’re able to apply them in the midst of your daily life.

Your nervous system is constantly sending signals through sensations, tension, emotions, and shifts in energy. These signals are like codes. Most of us were never taught how to read them.

So we try random tools, force ourselves to calm down, or push through stress instead of understanding what the system actually needs.

Some of those tools can help. But without understanding your specific patterns, they often become another technique you try and eventually drop.

Not because you lack discipline. But because the practice didn't match your nervous system state or your life rhythm.

This course shows you how to recognize what state you’re in, what your system actually needs in that moment, and how to apply practices that work in real life.

Why this is hard to do on your own
Many people already know what they “should” be doing but struggle to

apply it consistently in the middle of a demanding life.

Especially in moments when your system is already activated and you feel under pressure, it’s easy to forget the practices.

That’s why this program includes a simple accountability structure that helps you follow through and turn these practices into daily habits.

You can find endless information online.  But information alone doesn't regulate a nervous system.

In a live setting, you’re guided in real time to notice signals in your body as they arise, understand what they mean, and practice the right responses.

And your nervous system doesn’t regulate in isolation. It responds to the presence of others. In a group space, your system begins to co-regulate.

That's what makes this training different.

What I’ve seen in my own life

I know what chronic activation feels like — the tight chest, the 4am wake-ups, the constant background urgency that follows you even into time off or holidays.

Through training in mindfulness meditation, nervous system regulation, and deep rest practices, I’ve developed an integrated approach that works in real life:

During difficult conversations with your partner.
When you're giving a presentation and stakes are high.
In the middle of your child’s temper tantrum.

How the training is structured

The Nervous System Codes is not just a toolbox. It’s a structured training in understanding your system and applying the practices that work for your unique body, and to integrate them into your daily life for lasting change.

We begin by helping you understand your unique activation patterns. From there, you learn to read your internal signals and apply state-specific practices.

You’ll also learn how internal “Parts” can drive dysregulation and how to access a more grounded state of awareness.

Over time, you don’t just manage stress. You expand your system’s capacity and shift your baseline toward greater resilience.

Why this matters more than ever

Chronic stress compounds silently. The longer the nervous system rehearses these patterns, the more they become the norm, leading to issues such as high blood pressure, disrupted sleep, irritability and a sense of being only half-present in life.

There is a cost to your clarity, your health, and your relationships.

And unlike a project you can defer, the nervous system doesn't pause while you wait for a quieter season.

Learning to regulate now means reclaiming hours of energy, deeper sleep, better decisions, improved health and better relationships.

With presence,

Patrik Harbusch

DSCF0590_resized.jpg

P.S.
If you've been waiting for a quieter season to take care of this, it probably won’t come. This is your opportunity to take care of the foundation everything else in your life rests on.

P.P.S.
All of the online sessions will be live, and you can also watch the recordings. We’ll practice nervous system regulation in practical ways during each session. There'll also be time for Q&A after each session to answer as many specific questions as possible.

This is your invitation
If you feel ready to start living from a steadier place…

"An oasis of calm in the middle of a usually packed week.
Many of the impulses now accompany me in my daily life, allowing me to calm down, reflect and be more present in the moment."

— Kathrin F., Senior Medical Doctor

The Core Problem Isn’t Stress. It’s a Nervous System Stuck in Activation.

If you carry a lot and often feel restless, anxious, or unable to switch off, it’s not because you lack discipline, willpower, or insight.

It’s because your nervous system is operating in a survival mode.

It shows up like this:

  • You can’t fully switch off, even when nothing is wrong

  • Your mind keeps running, even at night

  • You feel tight, urgent, or slightly on edge

  • You move between overdrive and exhaustion

Even when the meeting is over.
Even when the kids are asleep.
Even when you’re on holiday.

Your system got used to being "on" all the time.

It learned that switching off doesn't feel safe.

What Nervous System Regulation Actually Means

freepik_a-closeup-lowangle-shot-c_2821389163.jpg

Nervous system regulation is not about forcing calm or removing every stressor from your life.

But by training your system to:

  • Mobilize energy when life demands it

  • Return to a grounded baseline afterward

  • Expand your window of tolerance

  • Recover faster from challenges

  • Stop swinging between overdrive and exhaustion

When your system becomes more regulated, everything changes:

  • Your sleep.

  • Your patience with your children.

  • Your presence in relationships.

  • Your clarity in decisions.

  • Your ability to lead.

  • Your health.

And your ability to create a meaningful life
without burning yourself out.

Why Mindset Alone Isn’t Enough

Most approaches focus on thinking differently:

  • “Reframe it.”

  • “Be more positive.”

  • “Show more gratitude for what you have.”

That can help. But it rarely reaches where stress patterns are actually generated.

Because stress isn’t primarily cognitive.
It’s physiological.

The real change doesn’t happen in your thoughts.
It happens in your body.

When you learn to work with your system:

  • You sense internal signals earlier

  • You recognize which state you’re in

  • You know what your system needs in that moment

This is the foundation of The Nervous System Codes

Learning how to read these signals and respond with the right tools for each state.

In this way, you don’t just calm down.
You upgrade your system’s default settings.

This Is About More Than
Just Managing Stress

08.jpg

This work is part of a larger shift that is beginning to emerge as a response to the state of the world:

  • A move away from burnout culture

  • Away from paying for a meaningful life with your sleep, relationships, and health

  • Toward a more regenerative way of working, leading, and living

Where you create and relate from a regulated state.
Where your ambitions are supported by nervous system resilience.
Where your success no longer requires chronic stress.

This isn’t about becoming passive.
It’s about creating the life you want and actually enjoying it.

A Common Fear Worth Naming

Many people who carry a lot share a common fear:

  • If I slow down will I fall behind?

  • Will I become too soft and less ambitious?

The opposite is true.

When you’re chronically activated:

  • You’re operating primarily from your limbic brain system

  • You operate from urgency and reactivity

  • Your thinking becomes narrow

It can feel productive. But it limits perspective and is not sustainable in the long-term.

Regulation doesn’t reduce your ambition:

  • It brings your prefrontal cortex back online

  • It restores strategic thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and clear decision-making.

This is about upgrading the operating system behind your ambition so your drive comes from clarity, not urgency.

The real question is whether you can afford not to be regulated.

Living From A Steadier Place

03.jpg

Most of us have learned to identify with the "Part" of us that's always pushing. The voice that says: "not enough, not yet, not fast enough."

The goal of this work isn't to silence this "Part" of you.

It’s about:

  • creating space from it

  • choosing how you respond

  • not being pulled along by it

That's where real regulation begins. Not in the techniques, but in the relationship you develop with your own inner world.

From this place:

  • You respond instead of react

  • You feel more grounded and clear

  • You move through life with more steadiness

"Patrik has a very accomplished and calming style that
immediately puts me at ease no matter what space
I'm in beforehand."

What You’ll Receive Inside

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM CODES

MockUp_Offer_Codes.png

A Structured 5-Week Live Online Training

This is a structured 5-week online training designed to move you from unconscious stress patterns to embodied self-regulation and
long-term resilience.

Here’s how the program is designed:

  • Weekly 75-minute live online sessions with guided teaching and practice

  • Replay access for every session so you can revisit at your own pace

  • Simple handouts to help you integrate what you learned

  • Access to a private WhatsApp group for support, accountability, and shared learning

Inside this training you’ll learn how to recognize the signals your nervous system sends, understand what they mean, and respond with the right tools for each state.

The course gives you a practical map, a shared language, and a
set of tools
you can actually use in real life.

Because this course is live and taught in a small group, you
won’t be learning alone.

You’ll be guided in real time, not just consuming information.
This allows you to apply what you’re learning directly to your own nervous system.

It also creates something essential for regulation: co-regulation. Your nervous system responds to the presence of others. In such
a group space, your system can begin to settle in ways that are difficult to access on your own.

This is one of the most powerful and underestimated aspects of doing this work in a live group rather than alone.

Throughout the program, you’ll have a simple accountability structure that helps you turn insights into daily habits so regulation becomes something you live, not just something you understand.

By the end of the program you will be able to:

  • understand why your system feels constantly “on”

  • recognize which nervous system state you’re in before it unconsciously runs your day

  • apply state-matched tools to return to balance more quickly

  • expand your window of tolerance, so you can experience stress without getting overwhelmed

  • create a simple integration rhythm so you can live, work, and relate from a more regulated baseline

Each week builds on the last in a deliberate sequence: You begin by understanding your system, then you learn to listen to it, then you respond to it, then you restore it on a deeper level, and finally you integrate and sustain it. This is the complete arc of The Nervous System Codes and it's what makes this training more than a collection of tools.

"The mixture of knowledge transfer, self-awareness and time for reflection enabled me to fully engage and develop the motivation to sustainably integrate meditation into my everyday life."

Ready to start living from a place of regulation?

What’s Inside The Sessions

Week 1 — The Map

Understand your nervous system states and the patterns that keep you stuck

Your nervous system isn’t broken, it’s protecting you. The goal isn’t constant calm, it’s flexibility.
Before you can change your stress patterns, you need to understand what is actually driving them.

In this first week, you’ll learn how your system moves between activation, shutdown, and regulation, and experience simple ways to begin shifting your nervous system toward balance.

Inside this week:

  • Understanding the three primary nervous system states as well as different hybrid states and how they show up in your body

  • Why the vagus nerve plays a central role in regulation

  • How chronic stress can impair the nervous system’s ability to self-regulate

  • Why people who carry a lot can become stuck in constant activation

  • How the nervous system can learn regulation again through neuroplasticity

  • Introduction to protective survival responses from internal “Parts”

  • How to identify your personal activation signature

  • First foundational practices to begin regulating your system

Week 2 — The Language

Interoception and learning to read your body signals before going into dysregulation

Your body speaks before your mind. But most of us were never taught how to listen. The ability to sense internal signals — known as interoception — is the foundation of nervous system regulation.

In the second week, you train your ability to sense internal signals before they escalate into dysregulation. You’ll not only learn practices, but also how to attune to the effects of different regulation tools on your unique system, so you can begin building your own personal toolbox.

Inside this week:

  • The ability to listen to the language of your nervous system

  • Why interoception is a gateway skill for regulation and well-being

  • How to detect early signs of stress responses before they become overwhelming

  • How to identify personal triggers and regulation signals

  • How internal “Parts” can trigger nervous system states

  • Recognizing the physical signs of effective down-regulation

  • Simple practices to strengthen embodied awareness

Week 3 — The Tools

Real-time regulation and building nervous system capacity

Once you understand your nervous system, you can begin working with it intentionally.

In this week you’ll learn practical ways to regulate your nervous system in the middle of real life when acute stress arises. You’ll also learn tools for increasing your nervous system resilience, strengthening your system’s capacity to stay more steady even during demanding moments.

Inside this week:

  • How to choose regulation tools based on the signals your system is sending

  • Why some relaxation practices can backfire for certain nervous system states

  • What “capacity building” actually means

  • How people around you shape your nervous system (co-regulation)

  • Real-time regulation tools for stressful moments

  • Regular practices that support vagal tone and increase nervous system resilience

  • How to regulate your nervous system without bypassing internal “Parts”

  • How to reconnect with a more grounded awareness

Week 4 — Deep Restoration

Strategic recovery and the practice of nervous system reset

Many people who feel constantly “on” underestimate the importance of recovery. It is not a luxury but the foundation of health, resilience and well-being. Regulation without restoration doesn’t last.

When the nervous system has been “on” for long periods, it needs more than just sleep to fully reset.

This week introduces a powerful practice that allows the nervous system to shift into deeper recovery states.

Inside this week:

  • Why sleep alone doesn’t fully restore chronic activation

  • How to intentionally access deep nervous system recovery states

  • How Non-Sleep Deep Rest (Yoga Nidra) supports nervous system repair

  • Deep rest as a gateway into a calmer baseline state

  • An experience of awareness that is untouched by stress

  • A guided deep-rest practice you can continue using long after the course

Week 5 — Integration

Habit architecture: making regulation a default again

Insight fades. Habits endure. The nervous system changes through repetition. State shifts become traits when you practice in small, doable and consistent ways.

In this final week, you’ll design a simple structure that makes regulation part of your life rather than another item on your to-do list.

Inside this week:

  • How to create your personal Regulation Routine

  • A micro-practice architecture that fits into busy days

  • Habit formation strategies that support nervous system change

  • What to do when you "fall off track"

  • Becoming a more regulating presence for yourself and others

  • How to notice when an internal “Part” is running your day

  • Nervous system reset protocols for high-activation moments

What are the dates and times of the live sessions?

Live sessions take place weekly on Wednesdays from 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm (CET), from May 13th to June 10th, 2026.

You can join from anywhere in the world.

If you’re unsure how this translates to your time zone, you can use this tool:
https://timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

In which language is the course held?

All sessions are held in English.

How can I get support?

You’ll be supported throughout the program.

For any questions related to access or logistics, you can reach me at:
patrik@natureofmind.life

I typically respond within 24 hours or sooner, and I'm here to make your journey as smooth as possible.

How much time do I need each week?

Each live session runs for approximately 75 minutes per week.

In addition, you can expect to spend around 5–20 minutes per day integrating the practices, depending on your schedule and capacity.

This isn’t about adding more to an already full life. It’s about working with small, consistent repetitions.

I've tried meditation before and it didn't stick. How is this different?

That's one of the most common things people say before joining and it's exactly what this course is designed for.

Most practices don’t stick not because of a lack of discipline, but because they don’t match your nervous system state.

This course teaches you to understand your own patterns first, so the tools you choose actually fit.

What didn't work before may simply not have been the right tool for your system.

Can this really work in an online format?

Yes. The program is designed to create depth even in an online setting.

All sessions are held live and include guided practice, not just passive learning.

Many people find that working from their own environment is more practical and makes it easier to integrate what they learn into daily life.

Can’t I just learn this from YouTube, apps, or ChatGPT?

Yes, and you probably already have.

The challenge isn't access to information. It's knowing how to apply the right practice at the right moment, for your specific nervous system state and actually doing it consistently in the middle of a full life.

Through live guidance, you learn how your patterns show up in real time and how to respond to them in a way that actually works for your system.

There's also something this format offers that self-study can't: your nervous system responds differently when you're practising in the presence of others who are settling alongside you. Many people find this is what allows the practices to finally land and become part of daily life.
